Registration, Scheduling and Completing Service Opportunities
How do I get started?
Select an event and then find your market from the list of available dates. Click the signup button and register for the program. Then select a Service Opportunity project from the list of available projects within that market.
How do I register for Service Opportunities?
After completing the registration process, you will be able to view Service Opportunities associated with the performance date you’ve selected. Select one that interests you. Be sure that you’ve signed up for a Service Opportunity that will give you the total 8 hours you need to qualify for a reward. Or if you have signed up for a service kit project, you must complete and submit 10 kits to qualify.
You can always find the listing of Service Opportunities available when logging in and clicking on the “My Account” link.
How do I make a change to my schedule?
If you are no longer able to attend a volunteering opportunity you've signed up for we ask that you remove yourself from this event to allow others the chance to participate. You can remove yourself from volunteering opportunity by clicking the 'Remove' button below any of the events displayed in the 'My Schedule' section of your profile page.
What are service kits and how do I assemble them?
In select FREE.I.P. markets, we are asking volunteers to submit 10 service kits to qualify for a reward. Service kits are packets made up of items that kids generally need while living on the streets. Things like deodorant, clean socks and underwear, and condoms can be hard to come by when you’re living on the streets. Please download the Service Kit Manual (see a link for download in the “Downloadable Forms & Manuals” section from the My Account page after you’ve completed your registration) for more information on how to organize a drive for items for service kits and which items will qualify as a service kit.
Can I have someone drop off a service kit for me?
No. You need to be present with a valid I.D. and your completed "Service Reporting Form". If you are under 18 years of age we will also require a “Volunteer Parent Permission Form” signed by your parent/guardian (downloadable from the “Downloadable Forms & Manuals” section on the My Account page after you’ve completed your registration).
Can I switch my market?
No.
Can I get hours before the registration period starts and/or get credit for volunteering for non-RE*Generation projects?
No, all volunteer hours will be credited for the applicable sign up period for their market and must be coordinated through the Virgin Mobile FREE.I.P.program.
Can I complete all my hours in one Service Opportunity?
Yes. You don’t have to volunteer at multiple homeless youth agencies. You should pick the Service Opportunity dates and times that are most convenient for you.
How can I be sure that I’m given credit for the service hours I’ve completed?
All volunteers must download, print, and bring a Service Reporting Form to their volunteer activity. By turning in your completed form at the end of your volunteer service your On-site Volunteer Coordinator will have a written record of your service. The Volunteer Coordinator will hand you a receipt for your records that you should hold onto in case any dispute arises as to whether or not you completed the required service hours.
Will I be notified if the supply of FREE.I.P. rewards run out?
Yes. Once the supply of FREE.I.P. rewards has been exhausted for a particular market all corresponding volunteer activities will be marked as closed and no further signups will be accepted.
How do I receive my reward?
You will be notified by email if you are eligible to receive a reward and, if you are under the age of 18, you will be required to sign and return a Parent Permission Form. We will email you with detailed instructions regarding the Parent Permission Form (if applicable) and how to receive your reward.
